December to February
Snow on the roof, sun on the deck
The orchard sleeps under snow and the air turns glass-clear. Snow is likeliest from late December to February, the peaks are at their sharpest, and the bonfire earns its keep.

A white orchard cottage with the Himalayan snow line on the horizon, food from our own organic garden and a fire lit every evening.

A stay rooted in nature
Namah Stay Himalayas is a soulful mountain retreat for those seeking peace, connection and the simple joys of nature. Wake to mountain light, wander through the orchard, sip chai as clouds drift across the valley, and gather around a warm fire under the stars.
We are surrounded by apple orchards, walnut trees, kiwi vines and pine forest, with the snow-capped Himalayas in front. Whether you want solitude, family time or simply a break from everyday life, this is the setting for it.
From our own farm
Most of what reaches a city plate has been processed, packed, chilled and trucked for days. At Namah the food walks a few steps from our own organic garden to the kitchen, and you can taste the difference.
The cottage
Rooms for two, a lounge for everyone and an attic for the dreamers. Take one room or the whole house.

Wooden beds, crisp white linen, panelled walls and a wardrobe for a longer stay.
Take a look
Tucked under the gable, with a wall of glass and its own turfed balcony.
Take a look
Sofas along a wall of windows, with room for the whole family to gather.
Take a look
A cushioned window seat, a cane table and a tea tray within reach.
Take a look
Patterned tile decks on every level, all of them facing the valley.
Take a look
Luxury lies in simplicity: the warmth of a shared meal, the fragrance of pine after rain, the glow of a mountain sunrise, and the joy of being together.
Our belief at Namah
Moments from the ridge
Filmed on a phone from the cottage and the orchard. No filters, no drone, no music.
Experience the simple pleasures
A fire under a canopy of stars, with stories, chai and nowhere else to be.
Very little light for miles around. Step out after dinner and look up.
Apple, walnut, pear and kiwi, with blossom in spring and fruit in autumn.
Bulbuls, thrushes and bright little visitors in the trees before breakfast.
A revered hilltop temple 4 km away, by trek or ropeway.
Most winters the roof, the railings and the orchard turn white.
Every season

December to February
The orchard sleeps under snow and the air turns glass-clear. Snow is likeliest from late December to February, the peaks are at their sharpest, and the bonfire earns its keep.

March and April
The orchard comes back to life in pink and white. Days are mild, nights are fresh, and the hillside fills with wildflowers and butterflies.

May and June
While the cities bake, the ridge stays fresh. Green terraces, pine-scented breezes, long evenings on the deck and fruit swelling on the trees.

July to September
Rain turns the valley a deep green, and on some mornings the clouds settle below the cottage like a white sea. The season for ferns, mist and long reads.

October and November
After the rains the sky is washed clean. Apples and walnuts come in, the trees turn gold and the whole snow line stands sharp along the horizon.
The neighbours
Every one of these was photographed within a short walk of the cottage.

Easy to reach, hard to leave
The cottage sits just off the Mussoorie to Chamba road. A temple, a hill station and a lake are all a short drive away.

Much of it does. Apples, walnuts, kiwi, pears, seasonal vegetables, greens, herbs and wild berries grow in our own organic garden and orchard around the cottage, and what is in season goes on the table. What we do not grow is sourced as locally as we can.

Yes. There is a play corner with a swing and a slide on the deck, and open orchard to run in. The cottage stands on a hillside, so tell us if anyone in your group prefers fewer stairs and we will suggest the right room.
